Tell us a bit more about the advice line, what it covers and who it’s helpful to.
“The advice line is here to support Timetastic clients with queries about HR and Employment Law. It’s suitable for any business that has employees – as you’re inevitably going to run into HR issues at some point down the line. We cover businesses in all industries across all sizes, so whether you’ve got one employee or 50, or you work in admin or care, we’re here to help.”
Where do you fit in with Citation?
“I’ve worked for Citation for 6 years as part of the Employment Law team. Citation itself has over 50,000 clients, so over the years I’ve spoken to a huge range of businesses surrounding all types of HR matters on a daily basis. Before this though I worked in HR departments across various industries, so a lot of the advice I give is from my own experiences.”
What kind of questions do you deal with on a regular basis?
“I see questions about a huge variety of issues, but if I had to boil it down, the top issues would be sickness absence management, employee conduct issues and probation. As you can imagine, these are universal issues that all businesses face, which is why we get the most calls surrounding these topics. But we do often get queries around more complex issues like restructures, redundances and TUPE.”
Tell us about a client or situation where you’ve helped.
“We had a call recently from a client who wanted to employ someone with irregular hours. Their hours would vary each week depending on the work available. The client wasn’t sure which type of contract to give the employee, or how to calculate their holidays, so we talked through various options and how the holiday accrual would be calculated. The client left the call really happy with the game plan.”
What don’t you cover?
“We support with HR & Employment Law, so we can’t advise on anything outside those realms – but anything under that bracket, we’re here to help. And we really do mean anything!”
And you really do all this for free for Timetastic clients?
“Absolutely! As Timetastic are now part of the Citation Group, we decided to extend the Citation HR advice line to Timetastic customers to give them more extensive support. We can also offer further HR support to Timetastic customers too, which we can discuss if needed!”
